Last Night in Baseball History April 10th

Indians (7-4) 1 AT Tigers (8-4) 4 – Matthew Boyd pitched 6 innings of 1-run ball. Niko Goodrum and John Hicks homered for Detroit. The Tigers collected 12 hits and held Cleveland to 1 run.

Rays (10-3) 9 AT White Sox (3-8) 1 – The Rays won their 10th on a cold night. Tommy Pham went deep twice. Tyler Glasnow struck out 11 over 6 scoreless. The Rays scored 9 runs on 14 hits.

Padres (8-5) 3 AT Giants (4-9) 1 – Manny Machado hit a go-ahead homer to lift San Diego. Dereck Rodriguez gave up 2 runs over 7 innings but the Padres used 5 pitchers to hold the Giants to 1 run.

Marlins (3-9) 1 AT Reds (3-8) 2 – Neil Walker homered early for the Marlins. Home runs by Jose Iglesias and Jesse Winker gave the Reds the lead in the 8th. The teams each recorded 3 hits.

Athletics (8-8) 10 AT Orioles (5-7) 3 – Khris Davis hit 2 bombs to bring his total to 7. Trey Mancini hit his 6th of the year. Matt Chapman had 3 hits and 3 RBI, and the A’s scored 10 runs on 13 hits.

Nationals (6-5) 15 AT Phillies (7-4) 1 – Jeremy Hellickson threw 6 shutout innings and the Nats rolled over the Phillies. Adam Eaton and Brian Dozier each had 3 hits. The Nationals scored 15 runs on 17 hits and held the Phils to 1 run on 3 hits.

Twins (6-4) 6 AT Mets (7-4) 9 ­­– The Mets put up a 6 spot in the 5th due to some wild pitching by the Twins. Noah Syndergaard was pitching well until the 8th. 5 runs in the final 2 innings were not enough to beat the Mets.

Dodgers (8-5) 2 AT Cardinals (7-5) 7 – Marcell Ozuna and Yadier Molina homered. Paul DeJong had 3 hits including an RBI triple. Jack Flaherty pitched well for the Cards over 6 innings.

Yankees (5-7) 6 AT Astros (8-5) 8 – Jose Altuve went deep twice. Carlos Correa homered and drove in 3. Every Astros starter recorded a hit. Brett Gardner and Luke Voit homered for the Yankees. The Astros scored 8 runs on 16 hits.

Pirates (6-4) 5 AT Cubs (3-8) 2 – Jordan Lyles struck out 10 over 6 innings of 1-run ball. Francisco Cervelli and Starling Marte went deep for their 1st of the year. Jason Heyward homered and had 3 hits in the loss.  

Mariners (12-2) 6 AT Royals (2-9) 5 – Mitch Haniger homered in the top of the 9th and the Mariners waded through a tough bottom to hold on. Every Mariner got a hit aside from Daniel Vogelbach. The Mariners have won their last 5 straight.

Rangers (6-6) 5 AT Diamondbacks (6-6) 2 – Lance Lynn got the win with 6 good innings. Hunter Pence hit his 1st homer for the Rangers. Down 5-1 in the 9th, the D-backs loaded the bases but couldn’t finish the comeback.

Brewers (8-5) 2 AT Angels (7-6) 4 – The Angels won their 6th in a row. Their 4 runs in the 3rd were all they needed. Christian Yelich had both RBI for the Brewers.
