Last Night in Baseball History April 17th

Mets (10-8) 2 AT Phillies (11-6) 3 – Jake Arrieta pitched 8 innings of 2-run ball. Scott Kingery and Cesar Hernandez homered to lead the Phils.

Cardinals (10-8) 6 AT Brewers (12-7) 3 – Marcell Ozuna hit his 8th blast of the year, and the Cards collected 15 hits. Paul DeJong had 4 of those hits in the win.

Royals (6-12) 4 AT White Sox (7-10) 3 F/10 – This one had a brawl in it, so it was definitely good TV. Hunter Dozier homered in the 10th for the Royals win. Lucas Giolito left early with an injury.

Reds (5-12) 2 AT Dodgers (12-8) 3 – Walker Buehler didn’t give up an earned run over 6.1 innings. A.J. Pollock hit a 3-run shot to break the scoreless tie in the 6th.

Red Sox (6-13) 3 AT Yankees (8-9) 5 – J.D. Martinez and Christian Vazquez homered early to give the Sox a 3-run lead. Brett Gardner hit a grand slam for the Yanks which was also his 100th.

Indians (11-7) 1 AT Mariners (13-8) 0 – Carlos Carrasco dominated over 7 scoreless innings, striking out 12. Jake Bauers homer in the 5th was all of the offense for the night. Both teams were held to just 3 hits each.

Pirates (10-6) 3 AT Tigers (8-9) 2 F/10 – Colin Moran had an RBI single in the 10th for the Pirates who repeated a 10-inning win.

Giants (8-11) 6 AT Nationals (8-8) 9 – It was a hit parade for both sides. The Nats slugged 4 homers and sealed the game with a 5-run 7th.

Cubs (8-9) 6 AT Marlins (4-15) 0 – Cole Hamels pitched brilliantly over 7 scoreless innings. Javier Baez homered, and the Cubs swept the Marlins.

Orioles (7-12) 1 AT Rays (14-4) 8 – The Rays used the Opener to hold Baltimore to 3 hits. They picked up 13 hits in the blowout and for the moment have the best record in the game.

Diamondbacks (9-9) 3 AT Braves (9-8) 2 F/10 – Adam Jones homered in the 4th and worked a bases loaded walk to score the winning run in the 10th. 10th innings seemed to be a theme for the Majors on this night.

Blue Jays (7-12) 1 AT Twins (9-6) 4 – Jake Odorizzi pitched well over 5.2 innings. Nelson Cruz drove in 2 runs and the Twins took the game from the Jays.

Angels (8-10) 4 AT Rangers (10-7) 5 – The Rangers swept the Angels. The Rangers scored 5 runs, but none from the long ball. All of the Angels got a hit except for Kole Calhoun.

Astros (12-6) 1 AT Athletics (11-10) 2 – Frankie Montas pitched well, and Matt Chapman homered to snap the 10-game winning streak. The A’s held the hottest team in baseball to just 1 run on 4 hits.
