Last Night in Baseball History June 3rd

Scores in bold.

Angels (29-31) 1 AT Cubs (32-26) 8 – Jon Lester pitched 7 innings of 1-run ball to lead the Cubs over the Angels. The Cubs put up a 5-spot in the 6th and used homers from Javier Baez and Willson Contreras to grow their advantage. Baez also doubled and drove in 3 runs in the win.

Dodgers (42-19) 3 AT Diamondbacks (30-31) 1 – Walker Buehler dominated by striking out 11 and giving up a lone run over 8 innings. Corey Seager hit a 3-run shot in the 4th to give the Dodgers the lead. The Dodgers have won 6 in a row and still lead the Rockies by 9.5 games despite Colorado’s 8 game win streak.

Astros (41-20) 4 AT Mariners (25-38) 2 – Josh Reddick tripled home a run and Robinson Chirinos went deep in a 3-run 1st for the Astros. Cory Gearrin was removed after the 1st as the Opener clearly failed, but then Wade LeBlanc tossed 8 innings of 1-run ball the rest of the way. The Astros used 3 relievers and only yielded 3 hits over the final 6 innings.

Phillies (33-27) 2 AT Padres (31-29) 8 – Franmil Reyes seems to homer every night and continued that with his 17th homer to put San Diego on the board. Manny Machado hit a grand slam to cap a 7-run 6th. Eric Lauer gave up 1 run over 6 innings to take the win. The Phillies are mired in a 5-game losing streak and lead Atlanta by just half a game.
